Checked Baggage

General

  • Please pack your belongings in proper suitcases to avoid damage to your luggage or its contents during transportation.
  • It is advised to use English for all baggage tag information in order to expedite finding lost luggage. Complimentary baggage tags can be found at all STARLUX service counters.
  • Avoid packing valuable, fragile, or perishable items in your checked baggage.STARLUX is not liable for loss, damage, or delay in delivery of valuable, fragile, or perishable items listed below:
    1. Passports, personal identification.
    2. Jewelry, precious metals/stone, silverware, collectibles, heirlooms, and irreplaceable items.
    3. Antiques, artifacts, money, gift certificates, watches, natural fur products.
    4. Photographic/cinematographic/audio/video equipment, computer hardware/software, electronic components/equipment, and mechanical items.
    5. Liquids, keys, medicines, and medical equipment.
    6. Items made of paper (e.g., advertising displays, blueprints, manuscripts, business/personal documents, photos, books, negotiable papers, securities, etc.).
    7. Any other similar valuable property or irreplaceable property included in the passenger's checked baggage or carry-on baggage without the knowledge of STARLUX.
  • For aviation security, if lithium-containing portable electronic devices (medical equipment included) are packed in your checked baggage, please make sure devices are completely turned off and securely protected from outside forces.

Weight and Dimension Restrictions for each checked baggage.

  • 23kgs (50 lbs) or below per checked baggage is recommended. To avoid staff injury, bags over 32kgs (70 lbs) will not be accepted.
  • 158 cm (62 inches) of exterior dimension (length + width + height) is recommended. Individual items with total dimensions exceeding 203cm / 80in or any side of the item exceeding 148cm / 58in including handles and wheels cannot be transported as checked baggage.​
  • Please contact STARLUX Customer Service Center 24 hours (1 business day) before flight departure if you have luggage over 32 kgs (70 lbs) or over-sized items (i.e., medical equipment, mobility aids, pets, musical instruments, sporting equipment, camera equipment, or household items) for check-in. STARLUX reserves the right to refuse carriage of over-weight or over-sized items.

Baggage Excess-value Declaration

  • When the value of your baggage exceeds standard liability limits, you may declare the value and extend STARLUX's liability.The declared value of any checked baggage shall not exceed its actual value and the limit of declared baggage is USD$2500 per passenger.STARLUX charges USD$1 for each additional USD$100 declaration.Please contact a local insurance company for higher baggage values.
  • Baggage that includes the items below will not be accepted for an excess-value declaration:
    1. Passports, personal identification.
    2. Jewelry, precious metals/stone, silverware, collectibles, heirlooms, and irreplaceable items.
    3. Antiques, artifacts, money, gift certificates, watches, natural fur products.
    4. Photographic/cinematographic/audio/video equipment, computer hardware/software, electronic components/equipment, and mechanical items.
    5. Liquids, keys, medicines, and medical equipment.
    6. Items made of paper (e.g., advertising displays, blueprints, manuscripts, business/personal documents, business samples, photos/films, books, negotiable papers, securities, etc.).
    7. Any other similar valuable property or irreplaceable property included in the passenger's checked baggage or carry-on baggage without the knowledge of STARLUX.
  • Baggage excess-value declaration applies to checked baggage only. Carry-on baggage or baggage in other forms shall not be accepted.
  • Baggage excess-value declaration only applies on flights operated by STARLUX.
  • If STARLUX cannot assure the value of the declared passenger's baggage and meanwhile the passenger refuse to open the baggage for inspection, STARLUX has the right to reject acceptance of the excess-value baggage.
